Run Upper Murray

The Run Upper Murray trail running event is scheduled for Saturday 19 September 2026 near Thowgla, VIC 3707, with the start and finish at Thowgla Public Hall, 457 Thowgla Road, Thowgla Valley — just a short drive from Corryong in Victoria’s Upper Murray region. This scenic event highlights the region’s natural beauty, with courses that wind through farmland, native forests and up the rugged slopes of Mt Elliot.

Participants can choose between three distances to suit different fitness levels and goals. The 33 km course offers a challenging single‑loop trail with about 1,388 m of elevation, taking runners over multiple peaks and through varied terrain — perfect for seasoned trail runners. There’s also a 16 km out‑and‑back course with stunning views as you ascend toward the Mt Elliot summit, and a 3 km kids’ race designed for young runners and families to enjoy the trail experience in a fun, supportive setting.

Beyond the competition itself, Run Upper Murray celebrates community and outdoor adventure, with aid stations, elevation challenges and post‑race festivities at the Thowgla Hall.
