ANZAC Day – Bright

The ANZAC Day Service in Bright is a meaningful and reflective community gathering held each year to honour the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women. Set against the peaceful backdrop of this High Country town, the service brings together locals and visitors to pause, remember and pay their respects. With traditional elements such as the dawn or morning service, wreath laying and moments of silence, it is a moving tribute that captures the spirit of remembrance and gratitude.
The ceremony offers a chance to connect with the history and stories behind ANZAC Day, while also fostering a strong sense of community. Attendees can expect a respectful and inclusive atmosphere, often followed by informal gatherings where people come together to reflect and share in the significance of the day.
Across the region, many other towns within the Alpine and Indigo Shire also hold their own ANZAC Day services, each with its own local character and traditions. From small gatherings to larger commemorations, these services collectively honour a shared history and ensure the legacy of those who served continues to be remembered across the High Country.
