Beechworth Drive back in time

Drive Back In Time is one of Beechworth’s most beloved annual events, transforming the historic township into a vibrant open-air showcase of motoring history. Held each year in early May, the event draws more than 250 classic cars, vintage motorcycles, tractors, and engines, lovingly restored and proudly displayed by enthusiasts from across the region. The town’s beautiful 19th-century streets provide the perfect backdrop to wander among chrome, colour and nostalgia.

The weekend begins with a relaxed warm-up on Saturday, often featuring tractor treks, social gatherings and a casual cruise through town. Sunday is the main spectacle, when the streets are closed to traffic and filled with rows of polished vehicles, heritage displays, and the friendly buzz of car lovers swapping stories. Families, locals and visitors all gather to enjoy the entertainment, community atmosphere and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship from eras gone by.
