Bright Alpine Climb 4 Peaks Trail Running

The 4 Peaks – Bright Alpine Climb is a classic four‑day walking and running event set in the spectacular alpine landscapes around Bright. In 2026 it will run from Saturday 31 October to Tuesday 3 November, with each day focused on a different mountain challenge. Participants of all levels can take part in climbs ranging from around 10.6 km to 15 km per day, covering well‑marked gazetted trails that highlight the region’s rugged beauty and varied terrain.
Each day’s event starts from a different scenic location in the Bright area, with highlights including ascents up iconic peaks such as Mt Buffalo, Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham and Mystic Hill. These climbs test endurance and reward participants with panoramic views of Victoria’s High Country, making it a favourite autumn event for both walkers and trail runners. Established in 1979, the 4 Peaks has a long history of bringing the community and athletes together over Melbourne Cup weekend for an active celebration of outdoor adventure.
More than just a competitive event, the 4 Peaks Climb has a welcoming, inclusive spirit that encourages friends, families and spectators to enjoy the festival atmosphere in Bright. Alongside the trail action, visitors often take time to explore local cafés, wineries and natural attractions in and around the town, making the event a memorable way to experience both challenge and community in north‑east Victoria.
