DESCRIPTION:In 2025 Mountaingrass will be held at the Bright Community Hall\, Railway Avenue\, Bright.\nMountaingrass presents concert performances by Bluegrass and Traditional Old-time music from acts from the United States\, New Zealand and Australia and sometimes Japan. \nMountaingrass is a very participative event: it features instrument workshops for all levels of ability from beginners to advanced led by seasoned performers; guided slow jam sessions; a Sunday morning Gospel blackboard concert and some purely acoustic (unamplified) intimate concerts. There is also a luthiers display and sales and lots of opportunities for everyone to join in picking and jamming sessions.

DESCRIPTION:Alpine brass festival \n\n\nEach year in June we produce the Alpine Brass Festival at Bright\, Vic\, for lovers of brass music and autumn leaves. Join us this year on Saturday 14th 0f June from 12 noon \n\nThe Skunkworks Community Alpine Brass Festival is a celebration of high-caliber brass music\, youth development\, and community engagement. Featuring some of Australia’s finest brass musicians and educators\, the festival provides an immersive experience for players\, fostering technical growth\, ensemble skills\, and musical artistry. ‘ \nThe standard of performance is exceptionally high\, with participants performing pop-up concerts in the town followed by the showcase. The festival attracts bands from across Victoria and beyond\, including Glenferrie Brass\, The City of Greater Dandenong Band\, Hyde Street Youth Band\, Creswick and Daylesford Bands as well as Wodonga Brass and the Victorian State Youth Brass Band. \nYou can catch free pop-up performances across the Bright township during the day including the Bright Markets in Howitt Park and Gum Tree Pies in Anderson St\, then settle in for the Brass Festival Showcase from 5pm at the Bright Community Centre where bands from across the state battle it out for prizes including Best Soloist\, the Lithgow March Prize\, Most Entertaining Performance and Most Outstanding Performance of the festival.
